Greetings Walter J. Meyer Family!
Summer is soon coming to an end, and we will be starting the 2016-2017 school year. There are a few changes that we've made on campus, and adjustments in staff that I want to make you aware of. First, let me begin with the grade level staff:
We moved some of the grade level classrooms around in order to better secure the campus. As school begins, the front office will be in room #6 (previously the 1st and 2nd grade classroom). This change directs any visitors to come through the office before entering the rest of the campus.
School will be starting at 7:50 a.m. this year (ten minutes earlier than last year). This will be due to the free breakfast and lunch program being extended to all students in grades K-8 in the district. We still ask that if your child does not ride the bus, please do not have them show up to school until after 7:30 a.m., as there will not be staff available to monitor your children until that point.
We will be holding an open house on August 3, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. for students and parents/guardians to meet their teacher and gain information about this upcoming year. The first day of school will be the following day (Thursday, August 4). We look forward to seeing you all at the open house!
